Guindy children’s park

I have travelled in Chennai Adayar several times, but not even once I have stopped to go inside the Crocodile Park which is there. Though I have seen Crocodile parks in many zoos around the world, my only recollection of seeing them in Chennai are in my school days at Guindy National Park.I first visited children’s park at guindy in 2005.

My first preference to go to that park was to see snake park which is just adjacent to children’s park. Right from my childhood, i was very much intrested in seeing snakes in t.v channels. When i came to know that many types of snakes and pythons are shown in snake park, i couldn’t stop from visiting that place. Me and my friend’s  spent nearly  1 hour in snake park and 3 hours in children’s park.

spectacled-cobraThis is the spectacled cobra which is considered dangerous. Many college students came there , and made the cobra respond to their acts. They showed a hand kerchief to the cobra and waved that kerchief in such a way that it got irritated and hissed on the glass. They did it in a funny way. But it is always advised , not to mis act with poisionous creatures.

Guindy national park can be said as the only national park  which is in the heart of a metropoliton city. As soon as we enter the guindy national park,we find a few toy’s shop, icecream shops ,cool drinks shop and a small snacks shop. But inside the children park,we dont find any food stalls and so it is advisable to take food and water along with us. It is said that more than 30 species of trees are grown here.deer-eating-popcornJust when we are moving inside the snake park, two spotted deers were keeping their heads outside their meshed area. My friend just showed her popcorn to the deer, and the deer ate the popcorn with most excitement. Deers are almost friendly with every one.

The place is also quite spread out and neatly maintained. The Entry fee for Indians – Adults (Rs.30), Children (Rs.20), Still Camera (Rs.20). The place is worth going with your friends… The place is also quite spread out and neatly maintained. The Entry fee for Indians – Adults (Rs.30), Children (Rs.20), Still Camera (Rs.20).
